Program Philosophy

Addiction and other substance use disorders are recognized as treatable health problems affecting a person's physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual health.  We view addiction as not just a personal problem, but also as a pervasive social problem adversely affecting family members, loved ones, friends, employers, and the general community.

We are passionate about changing the story of those impacted by alcohol and drugs in order to help them attain and maintain abstinence and discover freedom and contentment through recovery.  Furthermore, we believe that substance use disorders are on a continuum and that people, whether abusing substances or other destructive behavior, can be helped to reduce or eliminate their usage and avoid the progression toward dependency.

Our concern extends to family members and others impacted by alcohol and drugs.  We believe that they are inadvertent partners in this disease process and can be helped to see their role in the illness and recovery.

We believe that problems associated with drug and alcohol use can be prevented.  We are, therefore, dedicated to maintaining evidence-based prevention programming that includes activities that address the needs of children, youth, and adults.

Although we believe that ultimate responsibility for recovery lies with the client, it is our job, through meaningful relationships, to provide a personal framework for hope, change and recovery.
